I was wondering if anyone has any experience using various lining materials for water retention. I'm building some shallow pools to be used as large tray method water delivery systems. I've been using kiddie pools, and they are just not large enough anymore. Plus, it would be easier too set up an gravity powered automatic water refill system with a larger reservoir. I just need too know if anyone has safely used liners other than EPDM pond liner for their CPs. I read that people have used old pool liner, roofing liner, and used billboard liner. All pressure washed before installing. Does anyone know what the NECPS used for the bog garden at RWBC? I plan on making a few of these, so I need a few hundred sq/ft. Several cents a sq/ft will make a big difference by the end. Thanks for the info.
I am fairly certain it is a thick EPDM pond liner at RWBC. I use a pre-formed polyethylene pond liner (UV stabilized) for my above ground bog. I have seen punctures in ponds (via tree roots, falling branches, birds) that were using roofing liner before.
