I know that our plants are the key display element at the show, but I think more educational poster/displays would give people more to look at and learn about our plants. If you have an idea for a poster, please post it in this thread.
I am working with Johnny to create a poster about newly discovered/described nepenthes. It will be a nice update for people who are not closely following the new nepenthes and their introduction into cultivation.
I am planning to make one on identifying nepenthes growing problems and the solutions. I think Marge mentioned this idea when planning a show in the past. It is great idea to help growers avoid growing problems.
Another poster could be about the history of the NECPS.
You do not need to be an expert on the subject of your poster. Research and dedicating the time are the two important factors. Other NECPS member can offer their advice to help you.
The posters do not need to take up much space as space will be an issue during this show.
Hi Dave, I'll have a three-poster presentation on Long Island's CP which will mirror my talks. I'll have it with me anyways as I'll be coming straight from the Long Island Native Plant Initiative Symposium at the Brookhaven National Labs on Friday where it'll be on display.
Each one is 30x40 to give you an idea. I definitely don't want them to get wet or damaged, they are very nice and I'll need em for a few more events... I have table-top stands for them or they could be hung.
One last thing, do you use a hotel for the show? A few of us are stating at the Days Inn in Cranston
Hey Matt, thanks for joining the forum. I was thinking that people would assume we are a much smaller group based on the lack of posts.
Great, I looking to seeing it if you can keep it safe. We laminated the genus posters to make them water-proof/water resistant for that very reasons. I imagine a lot of water will be splashing around as usual during the show.
No hotel this year, I will be driving back and forth each day, but I am planning to hang out on Saturday night.
