The last NECPS meeting of 2013 year was called to order at 1:05 P.M., by Dave Sackett. Business discussed was the upcoming Providence Spring and Flower show being held on February 20th,21st,22nd, and 23rd. Also Don was looking to book things to do at the 2014 meetings. If anyone would like to do a presentation or talk, please contact Don. As most of you know John Phillip Jr the founder and President of the NECPS has stepped down as the president but will remain an active member. Dave Sackett was voted in as the NECPS President, and Shaun Montminy was voted in as the new treasurer. Also talked about was the Nepenthes cutting coming up on January 11 2014. If anyone has an overgrown plant bring it in and share your plant with everyone. This is one of the meetings members look forward to. Everyone who attends this meeting leaves with several new cuttings. Also brought up was the NECPS forum and the need for members to sign on. A lot of good information and ideas are being posted on the forum. Johnny will be taking orders, and payment for plants in January that will be ordered and shipped from Australia. Those who are interested in getting some plants, the info and web site can be found on the NECPS web site NECPS.org. The Yankee Swap was held and once again it was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who brought food it was a great meeting. A special thanks to John Phillip Jr. John had a vision 10 years ago and turned a hand full of carnivorous plant lovers into one of the most recognized Carnivorous Plant Society's in the country if not the world. Emily had a big part in this after she organized the International Carnivorous Plant Society Conference held in Seekonk, Mass back in August 2012. Thank you to everyone who is a part of this society.
