The NECPS Silent Auctions are a great way to pick up additional plants at reasonable cost. They are also a great way to share some of your extra unneeded plants with other members.
Many people are not aware that when you donate a plant for the NECPS Silent Auction that you can specify how much of the final auction price goes to NECPS. You decide if all of the proceeds or just a percentage go to help support NECPS.
What a collection people brought to that meeting! I loved the swap/cuttings meeting, people were so generous! Now that I know about the silent auction, I'll have to try to remember to bring money to the next meeting Loved the items at our last meeting too!
Remember that for everyone, the moments of success were usually results of learning from past failures!
what was in that unopened box on the table also which plant is in that bag (the bag over that pot)
If you notice, the lower right corner has a question mark sticker. It was some time ago, but it appears to have been a WildBill "mystery box" that would always have something cp-related and cool. You would bid on it at auction without really knowing what you would get. I think it added a bit of fun to the auction. For example, the mystery box may have contained a plant that was likely difficult to find. I would guess it to have been a ceph or D. prolifera. WildBill would need to confirm if he can remember.
The bagged plant was likely a cobra lily.
